WORKING TOGETHER IN PARTNERSHIP
Pendle View Primary School
&
Pendle Community High School and College
These two age-phased special schools opened on 1st August 2005 following re-organisation in response to the Local Authority’s review of special schools, and the ‘Inclusive Continuum Action Plan,’ and were designed to provide for a wide range of learning difficulties from PMLD to MLD. The re-organisation also coincided with the “Building Schools for the Future” developments in Burnley and Pendle and both initiatives have had a positive impact upon the schools, their pupils, parents, staff and Governors and on Pendle’s special educational provision in general.
Pendle View Primary works very closely with Pendle Community High School, our sister special school, which is essential to assist with the transition of our pupils to High School during Year 6. The High School moved into new ‘BSF’ co-located premises on the Pendle Vale Campus in August 2008 and is located closely to our school building.
