Queen's Coronation Chairs Project

This week we have been celebrating the Queen's Jubilee. As part of these celebrations, we have been learning about the Queen's coronation that took part 70 years ago in Westminster Abbey. The Queen sat on a special throne when she received her crown and we have had the pleasure of being able to make miniature replicas of our own! We started by painting the golden lions on which the base of the throne sat, above this we placed the Destiny Stone and once we had carefully assembled the pieces, we were able to put the rest of the chair together. I think you will agree that our efforts definitely look fit for a Queen!
